Wetherspoon has revealed that 664 of its pubs across the UK will open their doors on Christmas Day. These selected branches will welcome patrons from 11am to 3pm, giving locals the chance to enjoy the festive atmosphere.
However, visitors should note that only drinks will be served during these hours, as no food – including items from the much-loved festive menu – will be available. This means those hoping for a Christmas meal at their local Wetherspoon will need to plan otherwise.
With 797 pubs in total, this decision leaves 133 establishments closed for the day. The pub chain recently brought back its popular Christmas turkey dinner, which includes four slices of turkey breast, stuffing, roasted carrots and parsnips, mash, pigs in blankets, peas, cranberry sauce, and gravy, priced at £11.99 with a soft drink or £13.52 with an alcoholic option. Unfortunately, this festive treat won’t be available on Christmas Day itself.
Among the Wetherspoon pubs opening is The Dominie Cross in Retford, which is sure to be a popular choice for those looking to raise a glass this Christmas. Below is a selection of the other pubs staying open across the UK.
